Founded in around 1890, Az. Agr. Mario Torelli is located in Bubbio, in the heart of the Langhe Astigiane. With soils that are quite similar to those of the Barolo zone, it’s not by chance that this area has potential to make beautiful wines.

These days, the winery is run by Mario’s son Gianfranco and his daughter Michela. In the mid-1980’s Gianfranco became aware of the VALLE BORMIDA PULITA movement which sought to protect the environment and the surrounding community from industrial waste and contamination. It provoked his own interest in organic farming, proposing that he and his father convert their vineyards. They started the process in 1987 and in 1992 went on to make the first certified organic Moscato d’Asti in Italy.
